The CLC2000 is a swabable catheter patency device that prevents the backflow of blood in the catheter lumen.
- The special design of the CLC2000 works to prevent the formation of occlusion, using saline flush only.
- The CLC2000 eliminates negative displacement and offsets this effect with positive displacement.
- Negative displacement is the volume of blood that refluxes into the catheter lumen when an aspiration device is removed from the injection port.
- Positive displacement is the volume of IV solution that exits the catheter lumen when an infusion device is removed from the injection port.
- The CLC2000 provides positive displacement and works to prevent retrograde flow of blood into the catheter lumen.
