M.V.I. Adult, M.V.I. Pediatric and M.V.I. - 12: contraindicated with hypersensitivity to any vitamin or with pre-existing hypervitaminosis. Allergic reactions have occurred with administration of thiamine and Vitamin K (M.V.I. Adult only). Contraindicated prior to sampling for megaloblastic anemia as folic acid and cyanocobalamin can mask serum deficits. Caution in patients receiving M.V.I. Adult or M.V.I. Pediatric who are on warfarin anticoagulation because of potential interference from the Vitamin K. Monitor prothrombin time to determine anticoagulant dose.
Rare reports of anaphylactic reactions following parenteral multivitamins. Also rare-rash, itching, headache, dizziness, double vision, wheezing, agitation, anxiety, shortness of breath.
M.V.I. Adult, M.V.I. Pediatric and M.V.I. - 12 contain aluminum, which may be toxic.
